At first I thought Cane and Lily would make a great couple until I saw how horribly Lily and Devon treated Karen. They acted like a couple of 6 year olds. It brought it home to me just how young and immature Lily was.

Water Lily?
Why wont my lily bloom? It is in stagenent water I had it for two years and every year I am dissapointed.

If it%26#039;s in a container it%26#039;s probably too crowded to bloom after two years. They need to be in full sun and in still, not stagnant water. You need to fertilize lilies about once a month to get a good bloom out of them. Lilytabs are what I use.

I had Lilies and Gladioli's this year for the first time.......?
They are done flowering out, now I have just these stalks and leaves all over my flower bed. I was wondering if it would be safe to cut them down some? If it is how far can I cut without harming them?

Yea, they%26#039;re done. I%26#039;d just leave them to die back on their own. The lilies will be back in spring for sure. I%26#039;m not certain what zone tolerance the the Glads have so I don%26#039;t know if they will return in your area.
EDIT:
You can cut the Glads stalks down and when they are ready they should make a hardy return.

Two years ago I planted a whole bunch of assorted lily bulbs my wife bought on QVC. They bloomed profusely and now all the flowers are gone. When do I cut the stalks back? Last year I waited until the fall but had all the stalks sticking up all summer.

Cut off the spent flowers, but you should allow the plant stalks to die off naturally rather than cutting them down right after blooming. This will ensure the bulbs have seen a full return of nutrients from the plant before winter. You can cut them off when they%26#039;ve dried up.
If you don%26#039;t like how the stalks look, why not bend them to the ground so they are neater ? I do this to my tulip stems, too. Maybe you could plant some Black-Eyed Susans in front of them so the stalks are hidden away while they%26#039;re in the process of gathering nutrients for the bulb.
If you really need to trim the stalks, %26quot;try not to cut off more than a third of the stem, which can reduce the plant%26#039;s vigor and longevity.%26quot; *
